DOES THIS REALLY HAPPEN

Recommended Posts

Folks,

I was tuned into a dublin radio last night and the topic was all about eating dogs, one member of the travelling people claimed that all travellers eat dogs after they die, he went on to say that lurcher taste lovely, and that jackers are his number one for taste.

He claims to have eaten pitbulls, shepperds, greyhounds, he went on to say that he family in England also enjoy eating their dogs after they die, and as he was on air he claimed to have a jacker almost ready for the dinner. Can anyone who is a traveller please back up this mans claim??

Does this really happen in Ireland/England.

 I think someone's pulling someone's pisser here!

Ok, the Irish Gypsys and the English have cultural differances, languages and, no doubt Taboo's. Frankly, I can't speak for the Irish too certainly. My Great Grandmother was a pure blooded Pav (Irish Gypsy), but she married a low caste English one. All I know then is that my Great Aunt, who I knew well, whilst sharing her mothers predeliction for fighting men ~ Perfectly true. She'd take on a pub full! :o ~ certainly never demonstrated any inherreted taste for Dog flesh!

The term, from the old Romani language, is " Mokardi ". Ye'll all have heard the expression, " Well; That's put the mockers on That! ". Meaning, 'That's f*cked it. It's no good now.' That expression stems from the british Gypsys old language. And, in it's proper sense, something is, or becomes Mokardi by dint of 'contamination'. It becomes unclean and there after untouchable. Doesn't have to be physically dirty. Think of how a wife may burn the sheets her husband shagged the secretary under. Perfectly good bed linen still, but no f*cking way is she going to lay beneath Those sheets again. They're now - in what ever sense and termenology she percieves it - " Mokardi ".

Well, Dogs, to Gypsys, are mokardi animals. Intrinsically unclean. Work out for yeselves why. But thus to eat one? For a british Traveller? .......... Get to f*ck!!!

Guy was having a wind up! Another favourite pass time of Travellers; Getting Gaujo's going! :clapper:

We eat cows, sheep, pigs and numerous other species and although I don't like the idea, other countries eat dog. The thing I really object to is the conditions the animals are kept in and the method of slaughter

Chinese eat them too. I stayed in a very rural place last year and when I asked why their hunting dogs were so skinny, they told me that if they were well fed, the next village would forfeit hunting and just nick their dogs. I have no objection to anyone eating them but as Simmo says, I like them to have a smile on their face as they die
