Houses will be at a premium in a country as small as this that holds so many people, we are a postage stamp compared to most of the other well developed countries in the world.

The fact that being a member of that socialist organisation known as the EU gives everyman and his f*****g dog the right to just walk right in dont help.

They are attracted by our of very generous socialist welfare state and liberal treatment of incomers.

The liberal and socialist classes in this country as well as the EU then give these people more rights than you can shake a stick at.

One things for sure, Britain is not growing anymore land that I know of so housing will continue to be at a premiuim.

This country could do with less incomers, less takers (unions), more makers and more profit.

Support our own who may have falling on hard times but realise that this is funded through profit not high brow ideals.

Unions are just one more leech on a country that needs all its resources to survive.......let people make money, let them keep their money and spend it how they see fit, tax them at a fair rate and use the money to support those who are genuinely in trouble.

I keep hearing about "fairness" in the soundbites our politicians are so willing to keep giving us, well tell me whats fair about a bloke who breaks his back earning money (be he a brick layer, a teacher, a banker or a bloody street sweeper) only for the state to come along and redistribute HIS money to subsidise a union or and immigrant or a gay, black lesbian drop in centre or the EU.......thats not f*****g fair, thats theft!

We live in a democracy and we tax (supposedly) in line with those principals, so in theory if all the people in your street decide that you live in a better house and have more money than them, they can vote to come round and take your stuff to a level that they decide........is that fair?

If your a demorcratic socialist then that is what you beleive in, so can you please post pictures of your houses and bank statements so that we can all come round and take what we think is fit.......cheers!

privatisation doesnt work either, the governmemt pumps more money in to the railways now than it ever did under british rail, how does that work wilf?

Really?....in real terms or compared pre privatisation in figures?

Seeing as every kid in London used to be able to get round on the tube and train without paying a penny.

Just looked it up, you are indeed correct but it's seems like this is done in order to keep fares artificially low thus getting more people onto trains......no doubt in order to meeto some low emission, carbon quota or the other

I agree with everything youve said wilf bar the unions being takers as its up to the individual in the work place wether he wants to join and pay into a union.

Thanks matey, nice that it's all being kept sensible and interesting.

The fact is that if we're taxed only to provide the essentials that a state should provide and only to take care of those who REALLY need help we would only be working for about 1 month a year for the government instead of nigh on 6 that we work now !!!

Everything else we could chose for ourself and get better value for our money.

That's a lot of money back in working family's pockets, family's who need and deserve to have their own money used for their own kids welfare.

I think that the unions have contributed to the demise of industry in this country and the rights of people in the workplace by selling its members down the river ,they are now just another beurocratic tool that managers use to bulldose over the workers.

I thought the point of privatisation was to take the burden of paying for it off the tax payer, low fares thats funny.

Take privatisation of water companies, supposed to generate lower fees....

Unfortunately there's no competition so effectively holding customers to ransom as they can charge what they like and get away with it.

Wouldn't be so bad if they pumped their profits back into the system and fixed their leaky pipes. The hose pipe bans a as much down to their knackered infrastructure as it is down to lack of rain.

..and don't get me started on th electricity companies. Our biggest provider is EDF energy which is a mostly nationalised company of the French government - 80% owned. 80% of the profits made by them in this country goes straight into the French economy..
