FastDogz 155
Patterdalejoe you know what i mean. In a sense that animals who dont perform in the field should be done away with...yes cos comments like his instead of showing a bit of respect and heart for the animals are really going to give Antis/Tree huggers ect a bit more ammo to play with. A good man respects his animals be it horses, dogs what ever and a even better man respects his quarry. Dog dish for horses cos a few quid was lost is not respect. Wether he meant it or not

Wether he meant it or not With all due respect if an animals bred for a purpose but it doesnt suit, in my eyes, there is every reason to cull it. This is more prominent in race horses than any other animal i can think of (apart from fighting dogs which of course is totaly illegal). I had money on Synchronised and the owners of According to Pete seemed nothing other than a totally ordinary Yorkshire family (for what that worth). Its not good when ever a (working) animal dies, whether thats a lurcher running into a fence or a race horse dying at the national. You seem to be implying that there is a place for every animal that is bred no matter what its qualities are. If an animal doesnt "perform in the field" the owner has every right to cull it in a humane manner. Racing horses show this more than any other animal. Imagine selling/giving away a thorough bred race horse, to any one who could afford it, for pitance because you didnt want to destroy it. People would get seriously hurt, its not a Blackpool donkey. Its as irresponsible as the people who gave away/sold the "pit bulls" that are giving the breed such a bad name these days. Any way what your talking about is totally different to putting down a race horse with a broken leg which is practically impossible to fix.

As a horse owner for 15 year i can honestly say i know that a lot of injurys are impossible to fix as the saying goes "No hoof..no horse" and i know that putting them down is inevitble. BUT i was simply peed off (rawness of watching horses fall and die im female, im sensitive sometimes) at the comment "Hope the uless c**ts end up in a dog bowl" which obv now all tidied up and sorted seems it was in jest. And i also know how good "sometimes" exracers can be rehomed and retrained into diffrent lines of work just as ex racing greyhounds can be (had them for 8 years). I have enjoyed many a day taking a ex racer on a hack out around the woods and believe me please i know they are no Blackpool donkey.Tho i must boast i remained seated The ex race horse who i used to ride was Madam Roux grand daughter of Rudimentry unfortunatly she was pts with re occuring colic a few years ago. I know they cannot all be saved and i know every man/women has there own views on what happens to a working animal should it not make the grade/be injured and that was not my fight my point was of a thoughtless comment made by Lab but i will still stick to my view of a good man will respect his animals. I havnt kept working dogs or working horses just happy hackers and retired track greyhounds but i do know of a hell of a lot who go onto excel and enjoy working in diffrent spheres or simply been pets. Each to there own tho eh. Oh and ive also had a Pit Bull who unfortunatly we lost at the tender age od 15 months last year due to a fatal and sudden seizer. I know there isnt a place for every animal bred id be nice if there was but rehomed to the RIGHT people if UNINJURED or WITHOUT behavioural probs it can be harmonious.
