sjb york 1
Aye up all Iv got a 6 1/2 month old springer pup. And he has trouble putting weight on so he always looks slightly on the slim side. I'm feeding him on puppy food at the moment cos anything else seems to just go through him. Anyone else had this problem? Sam Quote Link to post

stroller 341
Most young dogs go through a skinny lanky stage, and i have seen a couple of springers on the moor who cant keep weight on even off season. but if your in any way worried get him to a good vet Quote Link to post
steveio 39
i had a problem like that with a young springer dog pup,no matter what i fed he looked a cruelty case,i have a litter brother to him aswell and they looked chalk and cheese.by 6 month he looked no better so back to the vets, they done stool samples etc and determind he had a sever food alergy (1 vet said a poss reason could be that i fed him trip and he had a abnormal build up of friendly bacteria)..anyway they advised feeding nothing but CHAPPIE dog food 2 per day..hes now 18 month old and looks a star.he now eats exactly the same as the rest eat.
