advice wanted

i have a digital incubator with some turkey eggs in,and ive just looked at em and 1 of the eggs as pipped,the trouble is theres 5 days left and the incubator turns them every hour until theres 3 days left,so should i turn the egg sideways so it doesnt turn or should i just leave it :hmm:

Just leave it, the chick will come to no harm. Quickly whip it out once hatched :thumbs:

Wouldn't you let it dry a bit before taking it out Moll???........ :thumbs:

i would and let it hatch naturally, if too weak to do so id pinch its neck.

Same here. But I've never hatched out turkeys and wondered if there was a reason?...:-)

If his brooder set up is warm and draft free it should not be a problem Lab, good chance to be dry by the time he notices anyway.

 

 

No one mentioned assisted hatching.

i have had this, hatching too soon, and the humidity is increased by the dampness of the chick hatching and it seems to f**k everything up, so id take it out as soon as it pops out, as a sacrifice for the rest of the eggs, or even take the pipping egg out now :whistling: just my experience and thoughts :thumbs:
