Just curious lads but which of these calibres produces the loudest muzzle crack, the17HMR or the17 mach2. I am considering putting in for a variation for one of these calibres, and am leaning towards the mach2. However, i seem to have read somewhere that the ammo for the mach 2 is getting hard to find, is this true or is this the case in certain areas only,

hmr is louder than the mach2 , ring round to make sure you can get the ammo

my local shop doesn't stock mach 2 but can order it in no problem.think eley have stopped manufacturing the round but hornady still does. I use mine more than the HMR, its cheaper to run, quieter and causes less damage.I wouldn't be without mine.for rabbiting its a spot on round giving you more range than with 22lr but with a better trajectory.i got a sako quad with the idea that if the ammo ever did dry up i would just get a 22lr barrel for it and fit that

what gun would you choose if you could only have one 22 hm2? ,has any one got any pics of rabbits shot with the hm2 to give me an idea of damage, also did they ever release a game freindly 20 grain bullet in this case.

_{CCI makes a 20 gr softpoint they call a "game point" for the 17 M2. Do you have CCI available on your side of the pond? Not sure if Hornady makes a 20 gr or not.}

I shoot a CZ HM2 and I must say its been better than some of the HMR's I have had

It groups better its cheaper to run as for meat I try and get head shots all the time

 

I would say go for one any time
