Bosun11 537
When I kept ferrets I always had a brick or two in their cage to scramble over, either in the front when racing up and down, or in front of their sleeping qarters, keeps nails down a treat. 2 Quote Link to post
BrianSteven72 369
ive never cut any of my ferrets nails never had the need to and they are quite long but dont get in the way of them walking all the better for scratching the rabbits arse when it wont bolt ! Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,238
high cage fronts are the answer,,, mine are in a court that has good 3 foot of mesh, they climb up and sort of slide back down,,, they cant do this on a cage thats just a foot high,,,, Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Like Tomo says, high cage fronts, combined with a concrete floor will mostly do the trick. P.S - It was extremely sunny and quite warm today Tomo . . . . sods law i suppose. Quote Link to post

dave1600d 35
when it comes to cutting my stinkers nails i just lay them in my arm on their back as if holding a baby then smear some ferret paste {beapher i use},,or ferretone on their stomach, enough to keep em occupied for a couple of minutes ,,then theyre putty in my hands,,i can clip their nails with no struggling whatsoever,,without this they struggle n wriggle like fu*k ,lol Edited April 10, 2012 by dave1600d Quote Link to post
web22 27
i put a roof tile in for a bit every now and then to keep them down but when i've needed to cut them i put some butter on my hand or their belly to keep them still... Quote Link to post
The one 8,481
I just give them a quick trim if they need it in the summer after that i think they wear them down while out working or scratching on rabbits Quote Link to post
