Just mental! if that had been a sportsman with a legally held shot gun doing the same thing there would have been outrage but because it's a policeman its perfectly safe??? WTF? first they taser the poor thing, several times by the sound of it, and then have to shoot it because the morons with the tasers have scared the living cr*p out of it and it ran away!

 

Why are these incompetent morons allowed to even drive let alone run around our streets with fire arms and tasers??

No I dont have kids, I understand that a dog has hurt a child and another person but the last thing it needs is shooting/sticking with what ammounts to a high powered cattle prod, all that that is going to do is make an already stressed and confused dog even more terrified and stressed and make it even more dangerous and likely to hurt some one else!

 

Either shoot the poor sod on the spot or find a way to contain it but dont go winding it up even more

Of course the dog is the victim, because of some one elses incompetence it has been put in a stiuation where its attacked some one and then because of the stupidity of the coppers involved been electrocuted, terrified, electrocuted some more and then shot dead!

 

I'm very sorry for the people who have been hurt and I hope they both make a full recovery but there is no such thing as a dangerous dog only dangerous owners!

How many cops do you see armed with shotties? Tasers are designed for shooting animals aswell as humans, so surely it is better that PC plod armed with a taser tries something, rather than waiting for a fully armed copper to turn up, which could take ages!

I use shotty in buildings and in the open, and they are far safer than HV or LV bullet which will ricochet like f@@k.

A 12 year old girl was attacked fella. I don't care how that dog was killed. It could have been kicked to death by copper or public. If it was my dog, I would do the same. Feral dogs are often like the feral owners. Dog on dog or dog on cat are slightly different.

 

I'm not questioning that they needed to do something about the situation but it just sounds to me like they handled it all rather badly

Those dogs are very powerful animals, to any other breed Im sure the tazer would of been enough but these dogs once the heads gone it takes a hell of a lot to stop them. I remember watching something I tv a few years back and copper was confronted by a pit bull the dog attacked him he shot it in the chest the dog went down got back up and went back at him. He then fired one into its head same thing again it got back up it took the 3rd bullet to finish it off. The "poor thing" f**k the dog what about the poor bloody girl she could of been disfigured for life ! I don't think it was handled badly I just think nobody expected the tazer not to be able to stop the dog. This is exactly why I never take my dogs to public parks

it easy for them to make a big deal over a bull breed because of their history.

what happened to that little girl should have never have happened.

i hope she makes a full recovery, and not put off dogs for life.

the police were right in doing what they did.

also the owner should have the book trown at him.

but if it was a small terrier, lab, collie or other type would there be as much hype over it.

also banning or destroying the breed wont work.
