matthews 88 77
rabbit skin on a spring pole will build neck muscle
Casso 1,261
rabbit skin on a spring pole will build neck muscle thats the idea, an inner tube of a bike cut across to lengthening it out and tie one end to a tug item and the other end to a tree or fence and let him at it , its all front end work ,,
gnipper 6,426
Will the dog be able to get to ground easily if you get him beefed up like a roid head at the front. If their exercised and fit i wouldn't worry about it.
paulus 26
fit is fit some are more muscled than others same as us we carnt all be mr universe
sandymere 8,263
It will develop the muscle to suite its body shape/bio-mechanics. As long as its fit its fit, extra bulk is a hindrance not a help. Once it starts working it will develop a little more to suit the new activity.
Bosun11 537
If your dogs are healthy, wormed, de-flea'd etc and they are on the best grub you can provide, then your excercise on the bike will do 'em no harm. They are becoming 'running fit' though and usually that will drop weight from the shoulders and put it where its needed on the back end. No big deal, if anything cardio fitness is a great help with their work and a narrow front and good hind quarters will help 'em below ground thats for sure. If you want to see their shoulders fill out, drop the bike work, give 'em more free mooching and walks, all that stop start, terrier bounce will shape 'em up different. The only thing I would add is don't create 'false muscle', a working terrier is a natural animal and needs to be so to do its job....
moonlighter 1,163
If there fed and exercised properly, then that's generally the shape they will be. Ginectics really.

Attack Fell Terrier 864
You want strength more so than just size. I've found that road walking them on the lead strengthens them up well, I like to keep a bit of tension on the lead as they pull it helps strengthen them up. Spring pole is a great aid to help a dog get in shape, but not all dogs will work the spring pole. Running/Lead walking up an Incline helps as well.
matthews 88 77
yes some dogs wont work a spring pole but if you can get a rabbit skin pulled over a lump of timber hang that from the spring pole they will go mad for it
