tegater 789
id rather they were pulling people in than doing nothing ive nothing to hide and no time at all for badger baiting I have nothing to hide either, but in this case its attitudes like this that make me sick. Badger baiting/digging is illegal, end of! However the police have no right to, and shouldnt be pulling in folks just because they are out with a lurcher, patterdale, jack or whatever. If they want to do something then it should be 100% intelligence lead, and then, I wish them all the best, but when John Craven intimates that blokes waliking in the country with dogs are not neccessarily just out for a Sunday walk, that is dangerous territory to go down. My eldest lad who is just turned 11, and has been shooting, ferreting and out with the hounds with me for years has just got a lovely little black patterdale, which hopefully if it turns out right, will get legally worked. If it doesnt turn out right then it will be a bit of company for us when we are out and about. The last thing I want, is my lad getting turned over by the police everytime he goes out, because some "waste of rations" thinks they are doing the right thing, through their ignorance.

KittleRox 2,147
I,d like them to go and raid all these folk who show and breed these dogs which are the finest specimins of there breed and then have there vets check them over for the myriad of hereditory problems such as heart conditions, respitory problems, brain function inbalance, joint problems etc etc etc and then decide if these folk are cruel to there animals
WILF 46,685
I don't even bother to watch this kind of shite anymore, you know it's gonna be total bollocks before you watch it so why bother to frustrate yourself?
Malt 379
The problem is joe public swallows this shite hand over fist. I was out ferreting a while back and the land owner came up to me and said his neighbour advised him to phone the police because he had badger diggers on his property. Luckily the landowner knew we were there and put him straight. The program would go up massively in my estimation if they dedicated an episode to legal pest control with working animals, guns, etc, but I can't see the lefties ever doing it. Not a chance, they can't even do a piece on shooting/keepering without having to get an anti on to voice 'their side'. Where was the professional terrierman/keeper to put across 'our side' to the public and show that there are law abiding professionals that work terriers? Makes you wonder who's getting backhanders in the BBC from the LACS. If it's an illegal fieldsport every other word is "barbaric" or "bloodlust" and if it's a legal fieldsport every other word is "controversial" and "sport???"... If I ever had the missfortune of meeting Craven I would have to try very hard not to land myself a criminal record.

rob190364 2,594
The thing is, they kept referring to hundreds of cases of "badger baiting" being REPORTED each year.......99% of those REPORTED are not actually anything to do with badgers at all! They make it sound like there's hundreds of badger baiters out there but in actual fact the number of cases reported is being added to day in day out by people that are wrongly reporting people that are ferreting/controlling foxes legally etc. etc. The other thing I don't understand is that with that lad who got his dogs taken, they said they had pictures from his computer....sort of indicating that those pictures were of them dogs being involved in killing badgers....why didn't they show the pictures? they were showing footage so why not show the pics? probably because they either didn't exist or were nothing to do with badgers. I like the fact they highlight the fact the lad had good security for his dogs and they said it as if he had it because he had something to hide.....no, he just didn't want his f'ckin dogs nicking! As has been said before, showing footage of someones dogs or properties that have been proven and convicted of badger digging is one thing, showing the footage of someone who hasn't even gone to trial yet is well out of order, the lad might be completely innocent!
