Just about to start a new topic with the same question. I've got mine on 'harringtons' at te minute.

Wanting to change to gain as I can get it delivered to the door for a decent price.

So what would you reccomend for a 19inch whippet.

Gain 28 or 20.

I'm a novice with all this. Thanks

Doesn't matter if it's a 19" Whippet or a 32" Deerhound, what matters is if it's grafting or resting.

As a rough guide the 28% for a dog in work and 20% for a resting diet. That said I prefer to feed as

much meat as I can get, don't think you can beat it.

I don't really run mine hard if I'm honest. They get out but not what I would call 'hard'.

They get 80-90% raw diet and use the dried as a mixer/ or if I'm away eg camping at shows.

So for me you reccomend the '20'?

the more you exercise the more protein you need as your body breaks down muscle then need protein to repair and rebuild new muscle.im same as you mine are out alot but not grafted to the max so i feel 20 to 23 percent is enough for mine id say they get off cuts and fish ect so there doing ok.

hard to find this gain stuff though for me found one place but they want 7 quid postage??

anywere decent online i can get this cant get it in shops were i am either!

I feed gain record breaker because it's based on meat rather than vegetable protein. I also buy a ten kilo box of chicken necks from the chicken factory each week. This costs 5 euro and I split it into 7 bags and feed a bag a day, split between two 24 inch lurchers and a 23 inch whippet.
