i was running my lurcher and he came back limping when i checked him over i noticed he had split his stopper pad so took him to vets gave me some cream it seems to of nicked its self together but i am not going to run him yet give it 3 weeks or so has anyone had this problem and has it ever split open after it has heeled

Bind em up with some tape and vetrap and keep them working! :yes:

 

i'll second that Wilf, take ages to heal properley.

my bitches stoppers are a lot smaller and 'flusher' than they used ti be.... also my wallets a lot lighter than it used to be! and im not as flush as i used to be! :doh:

 

Steveuk, is your dog working 100% normal without its stoppers? be interested to hear from you mate. :thumbs:

My vet advised not to remove them as they protect the somthing or other in the dogs wrist...

my own bitch just about comming right from a knocked up stopper.. will be out this weekend with her, wrapped up to be on the safe side. :)

Pain in the arse when you've only got one lurcher............... :wallbash::wallbash::censored:

Guest little lurcher

my whippet x grey done hers bad but i used old fashioned salt water athes 3 times a day to harden everything also was told to try using metholated spirits by a racing lady after the wound had healed to keep the hardening , i havent tried that though? since i have soaked hers in salt i havent had a single problem

yes mate 100% if you get probs with them it gets in the dogs head checks on stoping so get them off regs steveuk
