victory01 11
Hi guys I'm looking for a semi auto on a FAC, it will need to be a good reliable all rounder as its first trip will be in Africa with me for a month I've being let down by shotguns more then any other weapon on trips. So I want something I can take with me. I'm looking spend know more then £1,600 many thanks Rob Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
Bennelli all the way. The action works on the recoil of the cartridge rather than hot gases from the barrel. With most semi autos there is a small hole in the barrel which passes hot gasses into the forend to recycle the action, this means the forend action gets chocked full of powder residue and crap which without regular cleaning leads to reliability issues. This also makes cleaning a pain in the arse. ATB Jonno 1 Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Agreed Benelli or indeed Beretta. I guess if you want absolute certainty that no amount of shooting will clog the action then an inertia system like the Benelli is the way to go. I've never known a Beretta malfunction from shooting less than around 1500 rounds in between cleaning though. Quote Link to post
richmcgin 32
barreta dont get a benelli if you can afford a berreta benelii build quaility is poor i have had both makes and the barreta is by far the best option. IMO Quote Link to post
mally 832
Winchester SX3 mate everytime. I have a friend who owns a gunshop who shoots alot of geese and pigeons and thats all he ever uses, there extremely reliable and don't cost the earth. You'll get an FAC one for around £850 giving you plenty left for cartridges. I borrowed his and i don't think he's ever cleaned it and it was still cycling with no problem. If i had the money for a new semi i would buy a Winchester SX3 Quote Link to post

remi700 99
Wouldnt take a berreta if it was give to me. Theres no doubt there well built but ive never lifted 1 that i liked JMO. Beneli or fabarm for me. Been shootin a fabarm now for about 3 years and i havnt had an uncycled shell yet. My local gun dealer says hes sold about 40 new fabarms in the past few years and hasnt had 1 back with a problem yet! Quote Link to post
mjr88 50
Winchester SX3 mate everytime. I have a friend who owns a gunshop who shoots alot of geese and pigeons and thats all he ever uses, there extremely reliable and don't cost the earth. You'll get an FAC one for around £850 As above I bought my SX3 3.5'' Composite about 2 years ago, and although it's not FAC, i have never had any problems what so ever. The gun is extremely smooth to shoot and the recoil is virtually nill. My best friend shoots a Benelli FAC, and to be honest i prefer my SX3 anyday. In my opinion it's probably the best value for money, quality semi auto out there John Edited April 10, 2012 by mjr88 Quote Link to post
