Ausnick 190
Feral cats are one of the biggest pests in Australia, and are considered fair game, give the lad a break ! But the answer to your question has already been given.......Slip the dog on another one and see what happens ! Cheers. thanks for helping me get my message across mate. I think you've hunted with the bitch I'm talking about. Gerard had her, he got her off "dooley", the bitch goes by the name of Ripple. I've hunted with both Gerrard and Dooley, but the only Whippets I've hunted with down there belonged to Dromana, so I don't think I've seen your bitch. Cheers. It was the full sister to Milo. get less than half whippet in it but it's got the most whippet out of any of the other dogs I've had lol Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Electric shocks can damage internal organs if the dog remains in contact with the fence for a length of time (like if it gets wrapped up in the fence), but if the shock didn't last too long then it should be OK. You're more likely to have a problem getting the dog to go near a fence again, particularly in the same area as the one it got shocked in. Can you not turn the fences off before you start lamping (spotlighting)? Quote Link to post

Mac3681 12
I just got in from spotlighting (lamping) and my whippet X went to grab a "rabbit" she was chasing and she got shocked by an electric fence, she was covered in water and standing in water so she ran back to me howling. Will this stop her from catching "rabbits"? cheers SHOCKING that for the dog mate :bye: :bye: Quote Link to post

martin 332
I would like to apologise on behalf of the wankers on this forum that just post a load of shit most of the time, and I hope the dog is ok,it can mess up some dogs, but if you give it a bit of a lay off for a while it should help to get the juices flowing again when he gets out again.Mine have both hit fences in the past as there are a lot of them over here, and they certainly don't like goiung too near them now,but they still work ok............good luck mate. Martin Thanks mate, it'll probably be my last post in the sighthound section, really couldn't believe how dumb some of the people are on here... I have to say I'm not overly worried about fences as a lot of the properties I go on don't have any fences on them but it will get annoying when I take her out on my own farms. thanks for your input Quote Link to post
