Webley ValueMax .22

Recommended Posts

Just recently purchased a valuemax .22 calibre air rifle with a set of Hawke 3-9-50 scopes. The rifle itself seems to be a good value rifle considering i payed just over £80. However having fired a few pellets i noticed that the ''muzzle'' or silencer isn't exactly a silencer. It does sound relatively quiet but theres still quite a bit noise coming from the rifles spring and the end. Does any body know of a method to soften the noise or if you can purchase a silencer for the rifle ? All info much appreciated ATB ross !

If there is a lot of noise from the spring a tight fitted top hat and spring guide made of derlin MAY help a bit .You will always get some niose from spring gun .Tape a load off pill bottles or cardbord tubes ect to make a crap tempery silentcer ,or hold gun up to a cusion and shot .Then you will know how much sound is coming from your spring.

If you take off the barrel break foresite mate im sure the 1/2" UNF Thread Webley QGS Sound Mod fits it

Any idea as how to get the break of mate ? Its stuck stiff, ive tried twisting it and all sorts but it wont budge :hmm: ATB ross

I dont think that break is threaded on looking at the picture .If you get it of it may be permiant .Heat it with hot water and pull ???????may be or cut it of .It may be better to get a better gun and leave the value max as is.You could make a silencer to fit over the break out of pipe or tube .If you get the break off you will have to get a silencer that slips on the end of your barrel.
