I.W.T.F. (CLUB) and clubs....

i ve had a good read at most of the posts on this thread and can see that the penny has dropped in everybodys head that the time too act is now but its a very difficult situation and as someone has already said its a minefield and with minefields they can blow up in your face very quickly leaving you in a bigger mess than what you started with. i think this needs someone who has been involved with teriers a very long time and who looks at this as a means too securing a future for working terriers in ireland for all and not as an ego trip thinking that they are the saviour of the working terrier and trying too make a name for themselves this is at no one in particular just my opinion i think from corkmans barrie s neil etc posts its easy too see that they no what there talking about and think that there posts should be heeded as these are the type of men i think can help secure the future of the working terrier and even better if they could be talked into taking an active role in forming and running a club .i ve been in gun clubs fishing clubs etc for many years and too say they can be bitchy is and understatement and this is one thing a new terrier club cannot have as the fight is already at the door step and in house fighting will finish it before it gets off the ground so everyone will have too forget there differences and opinions and get behind what ever and who ever takes this on .

The very genuine air of camaraderie on this thread comes across loud and clear, it’s a far cry from the THL of old and long may it continue to be that way.   The IWTF has already shown in a very sho

Barrie, camaraderie would be an understatement. The room for the meeting on Sunday was pre-paid for by one lad out of his own pocket at considerable expence. At the close of the meeting EVERYONE tha

Glad to hear the penny has dropped Barrie will provide invaluable advice backed up by my old man any help we can give we will but at the end of the day a lot of the Msp's in Scotland didd'nt like Barries accent (and I suspect it will be the same over there) BUT when they heard the FACTS on Pest Control spoken a LOCAL ACCENT it was a whole different ball game. I wish you luck but you have no Idea about the amount of work facing you. Do not listen to the ones who are saying the fight is lost it is not yet but remember you cannot defend the Indefensible the Code of Conduct was PIVOTAL in making politicians realize we were not all Badger Baiting monsters and could indeed stand our ground under intense questioning in Parliamentry committees (Scotland) without the NWTF and Barries Knowledge and Experience we would be banned from terrierwork in Scotland. The Tactics and Personel they are using in NI have already been beaten in court in Scotland If you need help you know where we are.

10 or 12 years ago the Liberty and Livelyhood march saw 471,000 people march through London in defiance of a ban on fox hunting in England. Those people came from England, Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland, S.Ireland and further afield .Maybe a similar march through Belfast would make the Politicions in Stormount and Mr Sh_tepott sit back and take notice. Sh_tepott is calling for a ban on ALL terrior work be it legitimate or not. Good luck with the club Stopend, cant wait to see it up and running.

Any more on this lads?

RISE is back in action due to the Animal Health and Welfare Bill but there's been no approach from any terrier group according to the lads on the committee?

There's a meeting planned for Cork next month - I was at the last one and a very high percentage of the attendees were terrier men first and foremost - it will be an opportunity lost for us if yet again we're there in numbers but with no actual representation in the organisation itself.

I heard that ok and not before time .

Its time to get stuck into the government and get them

to keep there promises they made when looking for votes

THAT IS GET THE STAG HUNTING BACK

I know its nothing to do with terrier work but they like us

are a small part of the country sport scene and thats what the

ANTIS pick on first .

We have to stick together on all country sports

P.S its good to hear the fishing lads on board too
