Buggeration! So now we may never have the conclusive evidence? :(

Come on then, Moles; You were the man on the scene. You're bound to have picked up senses and instincts which we couldn't. What's Your gut feeling about this one?

dunno , was convinced it was the hedgie did the first rabbit, due to the tracks in front of the pp and the body on the road , the second rabbit was eaten a similar way and me caught the cat just about 30 yards from the second rabbit , using the rabbit as bait, prehaps the cat ate the first rabbit and the hedgie was second on the scene or didn,t want to enter the pp with a trap set in it, these pp,s are such that when the gripper fires , it throws the trap out of the pp and with such a small rabbit it could have thrown it far enuff that the cat didn,t go anywhere near the pp and leave any tracks, i didn,t scrutanise the place too much as i was sure the hedgie done the deed, i should really set my cage near the first rabbit , baited with rabbit to see if i catch owt else, but i gotta move on to other places so bugger it

WELL LADS ,

BEEN BUSY .............. AINT BEEN ON FOR A GOOD WHILE ....... THEN I CAME ON ..... NOTICED THIS THREAD :hmm:

WELL , TO BE HONEST I WOULD GO FOR A CAT ....... REASONS ?? ..... A FEW YRS AGO I LEFT RABBITS ON STONE WALLS NEAR THE GATES ... TO PICK UP ON THE WAY HOME , AS I APPROACHED THE FIRST LOT THERE WAS A CAT SITTING IN THE GRASS HAVING PULLED A MEAL OFF THE WALL , BOTH EARS WERE GONE , PLUS IT HAD TURNED THE SKIN PARTIALLY INSIDE OUT ,

HEDGEHOGS ? ............ YEP , WELL OVER TWENTY YRS AGO I VISITED ONE OF THE BEST KEEPERS I KNOW , WHILE COME BACK FROM A DIG WE WERE FLAGGED DOWN , THE NEIGHBOURING ESTATE WAS LOOSEING POULTS HAND OVER FIST IN THE REALEASE PEN UP TO 300 A NIGHT , THE KEEPER COULDNT FATHOM OUT WHAT WAS KILLING THEM , WE WALKED THE PEN AND MY OLD PAL SAYS , YOU HAVE PENNED IN SOME HEDGEHOGS THEY ARE IN THE PILE OF LOGS , SURE ENOUGH ................ ONCE THEY WERE DEALT WITH THE KILLING STOPPED , ALL HAD VERY SMALL BITE MARKS TO THE NECK

ALL THE BEST
