People will use the dog because there is a massive shortage of good stud dogs out there.

I disagree, I think there is many good dogs out there, people are to laz too look and go to next big thing, not knocking the dog, just knocking the short sighted folk who will use the popular in demand stud

Edwradiana Rob, Halaze hickory, Market trader? thats just a couple, there is great shooting dogs out there also, i prefer a tie in pedigree not just thinking i will use X at stud because he's popular and a ftch, or ftw, i believe in breeding for good reason and good thought into the process, "I am knocking Boris - I am knocking short sighted folk for using him and putting him across average or below average bitches , only to use his name as a selling point"

I agree, alot of ftch are ftch due to their highly talented trainers, it doesn't mean they have the minerals to instill quality in the pups,

 

Jessdale you seem to think I have an issue with Boris and are still being defensive, i am not knocking the dog, and i agree most ftw or ftch;s will be put to shite bitches, thats how it goes supply and demand, but imo i believe the same will possibly happen with boris as it did art, every tom,dick and harry will use that dog due to it being popular and diminish the gene pool, IE "popular sire syndrome" this has nothing to do with the openshaws as I admire what they have done, who ever is jealous of them is jealous due to their success and their success alone...

 

my issue is owners of bitches using "X" dog without thought going into the mating, hope that clears it up...

hi everyone , my PC has been down so havnt been able to post but the dog did not belong to me but to my brother in law and the dog had a new owner within a week of me posting on here cheers for all the comments and all the conversation about bloodlines its created

surely it is better for people to use the best dogs rather than the ordinary.i would raqther have my dog saturated with art blood than interspersed with loads of shit blood.

no i agree, always use the best possible sire, i would have a line bred art dog all, day, what gets me, is people going willy nilly to the popular sire, no thought into the process, no match in pedigree, or gels in ability,
