Cheapest one I know is a bamboo stick or similar roughly 2 mtrs long, strong enough to take a bird and still flex, a wire coat hanger or soft wire straightend and curled a few times in the middle of the wire around the bamboo stick and bound with tape or similar to hold it steady about 20 cm from the top.

each end of the wire is bent to either pierce through a bird wing or curled to grip a birds out stretched wing and hold it steady.

The bamboo stick is stuck firm in the ground, the other end with the wing spreaders goes up a birds rear to the head to hold firm, then the wing arms fitted to the wings to keep them out stretched.

Sorry no plans or pics just one I remeberd from way way back, but im sure you can work things from that .

i have two from decoy direct.co.uk

, you can adjust them according to wind and weight of bird etc ( fiberglass rod in a steel tube with foot plate).

i find them very good, put them into the wind around the magnet and bobs yours ( as is fanny)
