Was speaking to a couple of old boys about there hunting days pre ban, one of them "old boys" told me about a dog he used to own not a massive dog, but he got it at a few months old a said it was scared of own shadow, but turnt out to really game on hunting bunnys squirrels ect always lchasing them but for a whole first season 1yr old then after taking it out time after time 20 + times in fact easy runs squatters the lot it never caught a rabbit ! This dog also has a dud toe which was quite funny as so does mine. He didn't know what was going on, as soon as he put the lamp on it would run the beam the lot but still didn't make a kill ! In the off season he said he was out walking with dog off lead in countryside when up popped a deer before he could grab the dog it was off hot on the heels of the deer the deer tried to jump the fence but failed and got tangled up in it for a good 15 - 20 secs and the dog just stood there and watched. Anyway I was just thinking maybe that the dog just doesn't have it in her that last bit of killer instinct (which is why she yapped when real close up on quarry) and maybe she just doesn't want to strike at it? what would you lads do if you had this dog in your kennel, keep at it or think that maybe this dog just ain't no good ?

It would make me think that the dog had the makings of a brilliant long netters dog. One that would chase the rabbits into the net but leave them alone when they are in the net. A dog like that would be worth a lot of money.

Yes true it would be a good dog for that, but it was bought to be a lamping dog

Sounds like the owner didn't have the heart tbh

Because the dog wouldn't strike at its quarry its because the owner didn't have the heart lol what a ridiculous comment

It was a bit lol tbh I read the post half heartedly myself.
