secretagentmole 1,701
I am so glad the weather has warmed up. I was wearing the good old NBC camo (lined version). I saw the first up a tree, the first one home, obviously the race to roost had knackered him as I was able to stalk up into a good firing position and get a good aim. The BSA spat an Ultra Magnum at him and he came down hard. Thudded into the deck and never moved. Second one flew in with the main batch, about 40 birds in this flock, chose what appeared to be the fattest bird in range and fired again. Bird hits the deck, hard as the first, another good male bird... Got bored so decided to walk around and see if I could get a shot at another roost. Went through the side wood and got a line on 3 smaller birds (females at a guess) on an outer tree. Aimed, fired, bird straight down again, but in the ruddy ditch. Problem. 4 string barbed wire fence. Oh well the camo was cheap enough, one leg through, get the foot planted firmly, lifting other leg through when bank starts to collapse. Barbed wire hits upper inside thigh as foot slips further. Luckily the charcoaled rubber inner stopped rusty barb ingress into skin, but it was closer than I like to things which I hold dear! Oh well, third pigeon retrieved, walked back round outside and scared a partridge and 2 male pheasants at roost, anyway nice little group! Mini Me seems to have got the hang of pigeons now! 1 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
£15 for one set is expensive, this place has been used by mole and can be vouched for! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Large-Camo-Jacket-Trousers-Camouflage-Clothing-/280685242027?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_Sports_Clothing_LE&hash=item415a24e6ab Though take care when going through his shop, some prices are higher than others for exactly the same thing. I have Jack Pyke for deep winter hunting, full NBC for spring and autumn hunting and a set of lining removed for summer use. They work, DPM 95 has been effectively used by the army for many years and I used it throughout most of last year with success. It breaks up your outline well. Combine that with a set of camo gloves and a face veil and you have an effective but cheap hunting outfit. I would not go through the barbed wire fence in my Jack Pyke gear! 1 Quote Link to post
pro extreme hunter 10
nice hunting mate, very large pigeons .and nice small air gun.a guy is coming to my country from uk with this gun and he says he will bring long barrel and parts to convert it full power when he gets here,is it possible if so what will be the fps on it after conversion,is this gun worth buying in used and converted. secretagentmole 1,701
Well if he is bringing an export regulator you will get a gun developing 28 foot pound energy. Superb in .22! Yes it is worth buying, viewed by many as the "poor man's Rapid" this gun is wonderfully accurate, quiet and has a nice large shot count. Pigeon weights "oven ready", 1 at 8 ounces and 2 at 10 ounces! Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Nice work Mike Parts you hold dear Usually its the female tthat get to hold em Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
nice shooting fella, sympathies as to any injurys caused by the barbed wire, i have a lovely 4" scar on me right arse cheek from a slip about 3 years ago-luckily i was wearing moleskins so at least the trousers were undamaged(and at £30 a pair i should fekkin think so...). just a thought, your femoral artery runs down your inner thigh and cutting that open'll cause more damage than losing a jewel!! i never thought about it til coming a cropper climbing over some wire recently whilst carrying the dog... cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
The heavy liner on these things saved me! Waterproof and barbed wire resistant! Quote Link to post
