wingnut 27
Hello, i returned home from work the other day as usual to pick up the kids from the mother-in laws and when i got there one of her friends is there, with a problem she thought she would come and see me as she knows i into country stuff and can deal with pests i.e rabbits, moles, rats mice etc, she said she has got a badger in her garden and it has been around for about two weeks she has rang the RSPCA, Badger Watch even asked a police man with no one offering much help or even turning up and this pensioner is frightened to loose her dog in garden and unhappy with the badger digging up her borders and lawn. So i went for a look thinking cant possibly be a badger she lives in town with a public alley adjoining her house but never the less i went to look to see the situation for myself, upon looking at her garden i could clearly see badger damage as i get it all the time on the golf course i work on, and also saw lots of latrine pits in the vicinity and a few runs were the badger has obviously been moving to and from between the sheds of all her adjoining neighbours, i had a quick shine with the torch but couldnt locate him between sheds but he is clearly in the area. This lady has asked me if i could help and trap it humanely to remove it , but i said i really do not no were i stand at all and dont know the laws and all the ins and outs so i'm left scratching my head on this one. She said she will ring up the badger watchman again and see what says, apparently he said he will spray some deterant around her fence and not to worry he only after worms also to leave her dog feaces in garden, but no one has turned up to help this lady so she came to see me again, she is now seeing this badger at night regulary and is destroying her garden, Can anyone offer any advice on who to contact or what i can do to help this lady, i really dont want to end up on wrong side of the law. longnetter 32
HI wingnut...you need to contact Natural England...complain about local Badger Group.....make it clear that this badger is causing this lady a great deal of distress i.e. having an adverse affect on her lifestyle. Do not under any circumstances attempt to handle this problem yourself You probably already know that badgers have full protection...... trouble with a capital T Quote Link to post

ratattack 111
Low slung double strand electric fence will stop it from entering the garden, perfectly legal solution to the problem Quote Link to post
