looking for a sly way to transport ferret....

hi all, when i take my dog on a walk, i would like to take my ferret with me as well for some fresh air, along with any nets i may of accidently left in my pocket

looking for any sly ways to safely transport a ferret? any one got any pics or plans of those mall triangle poachers boxes or an easier idea?

when i was a kid we always used cloth bags to take our ferrets out with metal rings sown in the sides for breathing holes. i never ever had a problem but i would only ever use a box now.

 

i also had a ferret i used to carry around under my hat on my head lol, it used to curl up and go to sleep while we walked around.

then spanish use doughnut shaped wire cages that fit into a coat pocket, read an article once but carnt find a picture, plus stroller did a photo shoot with a backpack he made

Thats all i do really, 10nets in each pocket (Sometimes a 25yd stop net in the inside of my waxy and i just cut a few poles out the hedge when iam out) And the ferret in a pillow case and just have a mooch about with the dog in tow doing a few sets here and there never get big numbers but always happy with a brace doing it this way... Lie ups can be a pain in the arse as i dont carry a spade and the ferret go in un collared but like i say its nothing serious just a bit of fun.

yeh if i go without the collar,,, i use a ferret i know if it kills it wont stay long,,, not nessaserily my best ferrets,, but good enough to bolt a few from little warrens,,,, must say tiny its nice to do that kind of hunting from time to time ,,, hopfully run a few other bits with the dog as well

Thats it Tomo take the right ferret and stick too the right sort of little sets that you know dont hold any real numbers but just a few,

 

That way your always on the move, And like you say mate you always get too run a few other bits and and bobs while your on your way iv had many a decent mooches like this and run the lot doing it, It seems too be this way iv spent most of my ferreting over the last little while and iam starting too prefere it this way, You know what its like on some of them bigger jobs you do it becomes abit robotic at times, Where's this way youve got all the variety too do as you choose

When we go for a little walk i take a game bag and spade five minutes later my son follows me with the lurcher on a lead and a ferret in his pocket she sits there often just popping her head out then curling back up in his pocket . The problems no transporting the ferret its getting any rabbits off the land with out folk seeing them so the game bag

i just stick my little jill in my barbour pocket where she just sits with her little face popping out, in the other i carry a few nets.

had a few little warrens ive done before but usually lose a few due to lack of nets on the 6/7 holers..

 

thats what the beddy whippet shall come in handy for next season
