tsteve9999 456
I'm fairly new to ferreting but in my limited experience I think ferrets are like any other working animal and need experience. At the start of last season my 2 hobs would bolt odd rabbits but my mates a lot more from the same warrens, we worked out that my 2 didn't like step ups or step downs and so weren't doing all the burrow. By the end of the season one of mine had learned to do it and I'm confident the other will too by next year, so maybe it's as much down to the amount of work they are given rather than just how they are bred? The one 8,487
Breeding worker to worker helps ,then i get the kids to have the kits out in pipes in the garden as often as possible or in the garage playing under tarps ,pipes etc then i try to start them in small burrows with a older ferret .You cant roll up to a burrow with a kit thats spent the summer in a hutch and on its first outing drop it into the burrow mouth and its away like a vetran the same as everything the more work you put in the better it will be 2 Quote Link to post
