these little critters take up to 3 weeks to build their nest from cobwebs, moss and lichen, then its lined with hundreds upon hundreds of feathers. Its a work of art. Pity the corvids dont think so. this nest was only 3 foot high right on the foot path but it was predated by corvids. ....shame...

also found a greater spotted woodpecker (lower hole). Later i turned up with the gun and took out a couple of chick predators. there will be many more too over the next few weeks..... :yes::yes::yes:

Heaving around us with Magpies at the moment.Ive shot 8 this last couple of weeks and it hasnt even dented there numbers.Im waiting for a Larsen trap coming from a mate.

Had a nest of jays in the cemetery at the back of me last year i never realised how much they can raise the crest theyve got ive seen em for years and never noticed before first time i seen it had to look twice thought it was a hoopoe :blink:

We have some blue tit chicks in pne of our nestingboxes in the garden now :tongue2::yes: I think a few egg predators will be wiped out these coming weeks when i get my new gun :D
