Recommended Posts

Just watched this dvd again imo one of the best dvd's out there great dogs n great craic along the way, what a bitch star was, she shown tru grit bottle and determination with speed style and a superb killer, katy ruben nelly fred also good strong animals from the past, seems you dont see or even hear about pure salukis of that calibar anymore i wonder why, todays saluki dont look the same to me, not as strong quite weedy n dont look like they could take the same stick as some pures from the past, shame as if they were more about like the dogs above sure alot more would own them..i wonder if money has got in the way of quality over the years regardin salukis and is fresh imported blood now well over due as an outcross

There has been to much breeding using a limited gene pool. The back yard breeders who use inferior stock and line young bitches with young dogs which themselves have not matured physically are undermining a breed that has top qualities that were from thousands of years lineage

Good replies lads a truly great breed and as said thousands of years of hunting ability, hopefully we will see those amazing qualitys of the best again, or perhaps after all the years now of saluki being introduced and line bred ie saluki lurchers here in the uk we now have our own strain of saluki or at least not far off anyway, some of those dessert types that you see dont look a million miles away from some of the stuff here now
