terryd 8,531
How difficult is a 4.10 as a first gun well second but that was over twenty years ago. Reason I ask is I need a hushpower and if I settle for a 4.10 it gives me more choice of guns with in my budget of 200-300 any more would incur the wrath of the wife. Main use will be rabbits on the lamp which is close work and I suspect the 4.10 would be fine with but I would also like too do a little bit of rough shooting and pigeon decoying Our pet cocker puts up a few snipe over the winter which I fancy for the table. matt_hooks 188
.410 is a great little cartridge, and if you are good will kill as well as a 12 bore. However, it does put less lead downrange and so can be more difficult to kill reliably with. The hush power are great with subsonic ammunition for noise sensitive areas, but will take a bit of getting used to. The single shot will be limiting for most kinds of vermin work imho. A moderated 12 bore will put a little bit more lead down range, you can get all sorts of carts for it. Quote Link to post
