Carraghs Gem 1,675
i like em cause they turn ordinary people into jumpy, blithering idiots that run around flapping and squawking over a tiny insect, quite entertaining really!!!
Paid 935
They don't pollinate anything. but they do hunt, kill and eat other insects . Hunters always get a bad rap in todays society
scothunter 12,609
Well they must pollinate if the land on a flower and I've seen them, then surely pollen sticks to them?
Paid 935
On a very small scale they do pollinate, yes, shouldn't of said they don't, but its very minimal, they carry very little pollen, and the vast majority of pollen that might get on them is lost in flight. They don't actively collect pollen, and are rubbish pollinators, they are carnivores, and eat other insects mainly, which is a good thing.

The Duncan 802
When someone says "Just stand still and they won't sting you." it's bollocks. Wasps are vindictive lil b*****ds and should be anhilated. They inflict pain for the heck of it! Actually, I once got my old boss stung...twice! Last year when the wasps were getting drowsy and bad tempered towards autumn, my then boss was in the yard having a word and one was buzzing around his head. Without thinking I swatted at it with my glove. It immediately got angry and stung said boss on his bald head. ( ). As he grabbed at it to get the bliddy thing off, he pee'd it off some more and it stung him on the neck. I said to him " ooh that looked like he meant it, boss, there was no dissuading him from stinging you...looked personal to me.." (if I'd have left it alone, it wouldn't have stung hum at all lol   ) He reckoned it was because he 'd been taking the piss out of some of the deaf guys on site and karma was paying him out. Looks like that day I was working for karma lol! Dammit - just found a use for wasps!
