Phantom 631
Before I was given a NATO cleaning snake I used to use a piece of fishing line and a baby wipe! Amazing how much crap can actually accumulate in a barrel Now I use the babywipe after the scrubbing of the brush on the snake. Edited March 29, 2012 by Phantom Quote Link to post

kanny 20,585
The worst plastic types ever wee the ones that came with a plastic case a pellet and an applicator with which you had to pu the plastic cup in then the pellet close the applicator so the pellet was encased then using the applicator load your gun ....Mehta a fukcing palava and their accuracy was shit ............... SABBO SUSSEX i beleave they were solid copper couldent hit a barn door with them but they would go through a 2p peice at point blank that was kind of impressive as a kid just found this you can still buy them http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUSSEX-SABO-TUB-70-PELLETS-WEIHRAUCH-LOGUN-BSA-AIR-RIFLE-/140731487307?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item20c440144b Edited March 29, 2012 by kanny Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
No matter mate whenever you change from one pellet type to another you should clean out your barrel that is a must......i think paulus has shown what i was thinking of...also as these pellets plastic skirts are quite hard i doubt much would be left in the rifling but always clean anyway Do you clean with a rod, or those cleaning pellets? Cleaning rod mate...those cleaning pellets are fkin cr@p lol this same as mine ok not the best but does the job perfect http://www.ebay.co.u...=item41643993a1 Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
They do make the rifle more powerfull though..the one's i used to get would go through a paint tin but the lead one's would only go through one side.. And how many rabbits do you find hiding behind paint tins? Seriously waste of time at best, a complete liability at worst! Your quarry would thank you for only putting lead down your air rifles barrel and then the quarry in question at least stands a chance of an accurately placed shot striking its vitals and a humane switch off. 1 Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
I had some prometheus but made from tin rather than plastic, and they were accurate and deadly from my PCP! The plastic ones worked well in some PCP's, but springers seem to be prone to melting the skirts due to the heating of the air in the rapid compression. On balance I'd leave well alone. 1 Quote Link to post

The tin ones do appear to favour the pcp's and appear to be pretty accurate in many of the pistols and rifles I've tried them in, but to be honest, they would have to seriously reduce the price of them before I buy a full pack of em. I wouldn't dream of soiling my beloved rifles with the plazzy ones though! For now, Pb rules the roost for paper, metal and quarry Quote Link to post

Daystates love em! Seen some tins of 500 .177 pellets that are knocking on for a tenner a tin! Defiants are not expensive pellets! Edited March 30, 2012 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

Im not sure weather you realised but that was a piss take..and something we used to do as kid's aswell as shooting tin can's and bottles..marksman pointed pellet's alway's made my relum tornado more powerfull too..and we would get through about 500 in a hour.. Last time I saw them in a shop they were about a tenner for a couple of hundred, perhaps they are now more widely availabl and prices begining to fall, but until they cost less than these Crosman Premier in .22 (£8 for 500) I'll stick to lead Mike Quote Link to post
