Scot, I don't watch football or support it in any way - it doesn't interest me whatsoever. I was only joking because I know you do and you have strong feelings about it

bird 10,013
I've spoken to a few who believe that foxes don't touch lambs They think it's all crap made up by us to justify killing a pest who's population has exploded over the last 20 years, despite fox shooting becoming very popular. They parade themselves as model human beings, and yet refuse to look at evidence, debate reasonably, or allow anyone else to have a say. Not surprising then a few years ago MI5 described animal rights groups as the biggest danger to internal security. The hardcore ones justify petrol bombing houses with children in, in order to save a fox. You can't reason with these idiots as they let their heart rule their head. Good post! The bit about them not believing that foxes don't kill lambs though, I think they do really believe it, it's just they can't argue against that being a reason to control them....so they claim it doesn't happen. Why the hell wouldn't a fox kill a lamb, it's an easy target for them...and predators in the wild don't turn their nose up to easy targets, why would they?? Antis really get on my tits, the most amusing thing about them is most of them are completely ignorant about the things they're trying to protect (i.e. nature and wildlife!) Exactly mate..... Killing/death is a part of life and nature, simple as that. I'm not a big believer in killing for sport and I try to eat what I can (apart from fox ), so am I any better in their holy eyes??? It's like deer, they have no natural predators since the last wolf was killed on these isles in, I believe, 1741. We have a responsibility to manage species that can't do it themselves, if everyone stopped hunting for a year they'd soon change their tune well the ban in england you can (only) control foxes for game birds, (not) farm control (lambs or chickens) thats what it says regards hunting with dogs. You would have to shoot foxes for farm control, it seems daft to me as some places dont like guns about .?
predatorman 54
has anyone seen any footage of a fox attacking a lamb or killing one for that matter? i've only seen pics of lambs that have been eaten by foxes but there was no way i could tell if they were stillborn or died a natural death. i have permo on 2 sheep farms but the farmers dont seem to lose lambs to foxes nor have they witnessed foxes attacking them. if only someone could come up with some definative evidence then the anti's would have to accept its what really can happen. i dont shoot foxes for this reason and the farmers arent fussed about them being controlled. its not shoot land where i am but i still prefer to see foxes dealt with by dogs. i prefer to see a fox worked rather than shot but thats just me. all incinerated sounds convenient to me lol. Theres been pictures on here of bits of young (but not newborn) lambs dug out of earths etc, sure there was a picture in the shooting section of a fox that had been shot while carrying a lamb As for videos, I can't imagine many farmers standing around videoing it while he is loosing their stock Some stuff on here but i think there were some better ones on another thread a while back http://gonedigging.webs.com/why.htm Edited March 29, 2012 by lapin2008
