bonts lurcher boy 35
before everyone got out of hand and started arguing. back to your original question. get what you like. and willing to risk a chance on. iv always like the dhgxcollygrey, but i tryed a 1xbeddy coz couldnt find a decent matting on the preffered cross. my beddie aint no world better. but he doese the job for me. works day and night big strong dog for a beddie whippet, people think hes a beddie grey. but out of the right types. not any old shit. and thats a problem with some people they get their dogs out of any old matting and then slag the breeding off. but up to you what u eventually doo Quote Link to post
troter58 1,711
what it is they read all sorts of shite on here and hear of people who have not got a clue about the breed they are a very head strong dogs when young so get spoilt by being entered to young so some yap if brought on with time you will have your self a good rabbit dog end of the day there is good and bad in all running dogs mine does its job day and night so if some goon on here wants to slag it off come see it run first then by all means give your view other wise say nowt atb 5 Quote Link to post
Lurcher88 51
Northernlite & Troter58 get a serious debate going about a fabulous dog (biased? -Yes) only for others to ruin yet another decent thread. I've a 12 month old beddy/whippet x GH who I'm delighted with how he's coming on. Deliberately letting him be a pup before pushing him too hard. Coming along nicely. 21" Tts. This picture of him was taken yesterday morning L88 3 Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,080
L88 your we dogs a belter your doing the right thing with it everyone has there different opinions of the cross but personally i cant see by them they suit the type of ground i run rough open ground with a bit of cover the one on the right on the photo is the same cross as your own and i have great fun with them he is 21tts as well and gives everything to get his quarry Edited March 24, 2013 by nothernlite 1 Quote Link to post
Lurcher88 51
Thanks Northernlite ... Your's looking splitting image of mine in his face (apart from mine is growing a full on beard at present) It's my first lurcher and I can honestly say this cross is an absolute joy to be around. Loyal, determined, full of character and always a barrel of laughs! Got to the point whereby I've having to talk myself out of getting another one alongside mine. L88 Quote Link to post

johnny 2 367
The beddy whippet is one dog I've never given much consideration or thought too. I've really explored most other crosses, bull cross, collie, saluki, deerhound etc. However from reading posts on here the beddy whippet seems to... Enter cover, bush and flush. Be fast enough to catch rabbits daytime. Be capable of lamping. Have potential to take on bigger stuff. Be capable of taking feather in cover. Make good ratting dogs. If I had one it would be beddy/whip back to whippet I think to keep the speed up. Anyone who's got one and works it as an "all rounder" can you give me a quick summary of how you find them? Thanks Gaz What you say is every thing a good pure could do.How come you didn't get a beddyxwhippet? Quote Link to post
