Rob stop being a prick if you have a view to add then add it.....if you dont then go and pick holes in some other c**t.........i tend not to get involved in debates i have no knowledge on or you just make a c**t of yourself trying to bullshit and front it out............your experience and knowledge of treadmills/outdoor running was you got puffed out for some reason !..........im sure we could all aspire to such a level of understanding.

I could post an absolute shit load of info on treadmills, dog fighting, boxing, whatever topic took my fancy, and it'd be all spot on expert advice and the stats would be spot on..........that's the power of google, you can have a load of knowledge of the theory on a subject that you've had sod all to do with outside of your laptop....you of all people should know that

anyway, let's keep the topic on track eh? ;)

never been a big fan of treadmills but when I have tried them in the past I've been able to keep going for a reasonable time......but if I go running outside I have a lung hanging out of my mouth afte

You dont have to provide any forward motion on a treadmill, makes all the difference. Off road running is the best training by far. Get in the fields

funny that gnash i used to always think the smiths machine was harder,,, that was untill in the last few years ive been using a very modern one  that old thing we used years ago used to stick and catch ,,,

  I remember them fuckers Tomo......if you didnt grease them up first you would have a 25k plate on either side and struggle like f**k pushing metal against metal !!......Todays machines are something else mate counter balanced, electrostatic coating, state of the art bearings......mind you at 10-15 grand a pop which the modern ones are,so they should be.

No problem sir,i think its great when folk decide to get themself switched on to their own body and stop abusing it........your over the worst as for most folk the body is far stronger than the mind and its the mind that usually fails first......if your still keen after the first 3 months the mental test is passed......so good luck to you

Yip mate still enjoying it. Lucky to have a mate as a training partner and getting to go 3/4 times a week. The real test will be in the middle of summer when i have a field full of pheasants and when i get a chance to sit down will i want to go lift weights.......i think i will. The body is changing, slowly but definate changes. Weights are increasing and the bike and running is getting easier until i step it up again.

Cheers again.......

Tomo its not about experience its mainly folk just like you who have given me the majority of any knowledge of training i might have..... people like you who walk into gyms every day discussing things and learning from each other that keeps me on the ball no major success i ever had....id be as well thanking you as i would be thanking Labtastic as thanking anyone else who use gyms and thats one of the things i love about the fitness game its very competetive, but in a very pleasant way

Just enjoy your Training and mix things around so as not to get bored and keep shocking your muscles.

Try Pyramid training ie,

Find the max you can lift at every Exercise

Then start at light weights doing 1 set of 25 reps

Go a bit heavier and do a set of 20 reps

Bit Heavier a set of 12

Bit Heavier 8

Bit Heavier 4

Then 2 of your Max

Then work your way back down

2 Max

4, 8, 12, 20,25.

Train 2 body parts per work out and do 5 different exercises per body part.

Start with 20 mins on Treadmill with some incline work after 5 mins for 5 mins.

Speed it up for 5 mins then 5 mins cool down.

10-15 mins on a Rowing machine twice per week

Put some push ups in there, wide, narrow, angled, off centered ect.

Do 3 2mins on Bags Couple of times per week.

200 sit ups 3-4 times per week to finish off.

Every few months lift Heavy for a Month to Shock your Muscles and Kill the Boredom.

Train Hard, eat Healthy, get 7-8 hours good sleep.

Dont Smoke , keep off the Drink

Keep off the Juice and stick to Creatine and Protien ( Maximuscle aint bad )

2 Months on then a Month off then maybe change to Cyclone for your next 2 months.

Something of the above and done for the fun but with intensity should have you looking well come July-august and really well by next summer.

Listen to your body and have rest days, dont overtrain.

Treat yourself once in a while and pig out.

Enjoy.

Throw in a Circut every week instead of weights or a swim.

As said before Fartlek is interval training it can be as hard as you like. Nothing better for recovery times imo
