Terriers lost to ground?

Has anyone ever lost a dog to ground working a fox pre-ban, I don't mean suffocation or cave in's I mean a fox finishing the dog underground. Just wondering if this happens often if at all? Cheers, Rich

I did say pre-ban, so would you say more terriers were lost in the olden days when locators were not around? As for the antis, my question has been answered perfectly so what's the problem, should I not have asked it on an open forum? If so I will remember for next time before I ask a question. i im not saying that its a bad question mate it is a good one raeiy iv iost 2 about 23 years ago and also been called out to help get terriers out only last year i found a russal that had been to round for five days but luck was with us that day

Ive been wondering the same thing tbh mate as im new to the digging game , i have no expierence on the matter but my thoughts are that its the dog in the situation , if you have a dog that is very game and has no sense of self preservation and just wants a scrap then its more likely to happen . Where as if you had a bayer/mixer type that would stay out of reach and mix it up when needs be then imo it would be less likely . Like i said im new to digging this is just my opinion not expierence
