Trigger adjustment on Weatherby Vanguard

Recommended Posts

I have a Weatherby Vanguard in .243 and the trigger is quite heavy. I've looked up adjustment on the internet and it seems easy enough, just thought I'd ask for any tips before I start. Nothing like learning from other peoples experience

Yes mate its a peice of cake, take the stock off, make sure the rifle is empty, adjust a bit then dry fire, and so on until your happy,I did the one on my vanguard and it improved things no end, they are very heavy from the factory, never going to be the best trigger in the world mate but you will definately tighten those groups up by adjusting it.

Just one thing when you've done your adjustment make sure your safety still works. Sometimes over adjustmen stops it working properly.

Thanks lads, I gave it maximum adjustment with the front screw but left the rear (creep) screw alone as the manual says it can create saftey issues. Its helped a bit but still not perfect. Having said that I think some of the problem is me, my mate shot it and cloverleafed two groups at 100m while I am only getting 1 1/2" - 2" groups with the odd flier. He ought to be good though as he does it for a living!
