The Duncan 802
I remember my first pigeon clearly, coming between some trees at about 20 yards shot it instinctively and it folded, landing a few yards from me, stone dead. The gun was an ill-fitting Sable sxs 12b and I'd missed a few crossing birds at improbable long range before that opportunity. I'll never forget the feeling I had when I saw that bird fold.
waidmann 105
Yep I can remember very well an easy cock bird straight at me, I had just done my German hunting licence a few weeks before. I remember most of my first kills very well ( fallow, roe, red deer, wild pigs, fox, badger, raccoon,Martin, raccoon dog and even weasels lol ) It's a great sport we have. Waidmannsheil!!!!

Lab 10,979
Cant remember my first pheasant but i'll never forget my first woodcock...........for all the wrong reasons... Not sure what age i was but it would be around 12-14 and i was a member of a little syndicate that my Grandad got started. I was asked to stand on a forestry track and shoot any pheasants that try and escape out the side. Well after the beating line had passed me a woodcock came screaming out the wood, saw me and turn away from me and twisted and turned up the track. I swung the gun round and first barrel i knocked it over smack in the middle of the track......i was delighted.. . But just as i was about to reload the gun the little bugger got up and started to run into the wood, i never had a dog and i panicked that my first woodcock was about to get away so i ran after it. I saw it through a gap in the trees and thought "I'll just give you the other barrel to slow you down"... ..........OOPS!!!!!!!! To say i mangled it is an understatement, but being young i picked up this 'well hit' woodcock and took it down to the waiting bunch of guns. My Grandad was furious, raging at what i had done and sent me home and that was the end of that day for me..... A short sharp lesson in gun safety followed that evening and its stuck with me ever since.........
