Tikka Lite vs Sako Finnlight .243

Recommended Posts

I am about to purchase a .243 and have handled the Tikka and the Sako in the gunshop, both nice rifles but i prefered the Sako with its shorter barrel (did'nt like the price tag)

Would be very interested to hear from people who shoot Tikka or Sako as it would help me make up my mind. what rounds do you use for fox & roe i will be using factory ammo.

I will fit a reflex mod and a Ziess 8x56 scope.

What do you think??

Talk to me !!

you would be well served by both of those rifles mate, for the price a t3 is the best around i reckon, the sako is a sako and well worth the money, top rifles, a t3 or sako 85 is my next rifle in 2506

Hello i would go for the tika as iv heard so many complaint's with accursay but build quality is top in sako & know of good 1's too.As for mod's try get a look at the new A-TEC supposed to be the new boy in town or go with a pes.I work 2 T8's & there fine for me but would like a pes or the new A-TEC.Your scope should be fine if you get tika or sako get the opti-lock mount's & your off.

hi

i have a tikka t3 .very accurate indeed,i used federal ammo these were ok ,but i then tried the norma ballistic tips ,these are superb very accurate ,will put bullet on bullet at 120 yds, wind permit

and i have had no complaints on the foxes i have had since i have used them

stick with the t3 you wont go wrong .

Buy the best you can afford mate. The t3 is an excellent rifle, but its built down to a price, this means they are all long action, regardless of calibre, have plastic mags, and the stocks are very basic....but they shoot very well indeed. They have the same trigger as the sako too. The sako 75, and 85, are in a different league , quality wise, the stocks are excellent, and there are 3 action lengths, so you arent carrying extra weight with a small calibre. Never seen a sako yet, that doesnt shoot, plus, they keep their second hand value much better than tikka. All boils down to what you want to spend, if its a gun that gets chucked about, and generally abused, get a tikka, and spend the extra brass saved, on quality glass and mounts.
