pianoman 3,587
Hi Stevo! That Diana 46 is still a beautiful rifle in my eyes, and I suspect the same for Gurtwurz. He loves the lines of stutzen stocks on spring underlever rifles too! It was only just a day over getting the cash in my hand to buy the one I saw in Guns International's close-down sale....and it was gone! Snapped up by a moneybags who was buying everything up! I seem to remember Wurz had a similar situation where he had the thing almost in his hands but, there was a cock-up with delivery of it to his dealers. Still, the HW77 I bought instead has more than compensated me with what it does in the hunting/target shooting field. And his Prosport has done the same for him. So both happy! But there is something undeniably haunting about that Diana. Reminds me of those bolt-action .303 Enfields I shot with as a kid in the Air cadets and Mauser K98 I had as a military competition rifle I used to shoot with. It's not perfect mind. The pop-up breech design inhibits the length of scope you can fit to it. But it's a genuine top quality collector's item that will be really sought after I think. And it shoots very well from a practical hunting/target proposition. At 300 quid second hand though, this one had better be a minter! Cheers mate. Simon Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Simon? Where are you at the moment? I've been trying to ring you, so stop shagging and get your arse home!! LOL Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Hi Si. Thanks so much mate. I'm seriously up for the June meet. Wurz has kindly offered me a ride up with him and I think Andy wants to go too, so that one is well on the cards. It would be a pleasure to have you over again on my permission with Andy. We had one of the best shooting days ever (was it really a couple of years ago?!!!)! Your own beautiful lady PM'd me and Andy inviting us to a surprise party for your Birthday around the time..And that's when the shit hit the fan for me and I had to go into defcon One mode! Still, I kept my rifles and all my scopes and kit. Not even God himself could make me surrender my babies to him! LIke you though, I'm on a happier upward turn of the spiral, I have a very classy, beautiful lady who's at least accepting of my shooting passion and life goes on getting better! Not entirely out of the shit but, getting there. Send me your number mate and we'll have a meet up when we can! Hope you are really happy doing whatever you have now! Cheers Si. Love to Laura. Simon ANDYFR1968..... I'm in Wiltshire! shagging! I've got business meetings all this coming week but, I'll be home in Yorkshire on Friday. Fancy a shoot at the next weekend?
