Hawke scope with stiff magnification ring.

Recommended Posts

Hi Gang, I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem or knows of a fix for it. I have a Hawke 3-9x50 AO scope and the magnification ring is very stiff to operate its so stiff that i have to take off a glove to get a proper grip. The scope is now six months old, although i bought the gun set-up second hand the gent i bought it from looked after it very well so dont think he would have caused it.

Hope someone can help because i can't afford a new scope.

Cheers

Thankyou SNAP SHOT for the input but i have already tried WD40, 3in1, Silicone spray and even tried spit lol. Excuse my question SNAP SHOT would you know how the scope comes apart if it can? I have read that the scopes are filled with a special gas that stops fogging.

Do not attempt to open the scope up as they are filled with nitrogen to stop fogging,

wd40 is a no go with scopes, and i suggest if this didnt work with the silicone then take it to a local rfd to look at.
