Alright lads after mooching my 'local' ground today i managed to come across three new earths .... these three earths i must have walked past on countless occasions even though for 3 seasons ive seen cubs around 2 of them without being able to find them well today i have found them funny thing is there are very nasty rock spots going straight into sheer cliff faces ? one spot is a cleared out old rabbity spot which is diggable but these other two rock spots are obivously well used by foxes but im unsure weather to even put a dog in in hope of a bolt so my question is would you block these earths up in hope that foxes start using the other earths on the place or what ? opinions please ???

A few times over the years when I've had to make an earth empty without digging or shooting the foxes I bring a terrier with a good nose to the earth and let it go in the lenght of the lead. Even better if the terrier sounds a bit.

If it's a vixen with cubs she'll have them moved that night.

After foiling the earth a few times it should start to look unused and your terrier (still on the lead) should tell you no one is home. Then stop the holes.

I've saved many a litter this way where they've been doing no harm but have been seen.
