rawl bolts n rawl plugs for shotgun safe is it just the bolts you can use

There's no stipulation as to whether plugs are acceptable, but different police forces may have different opinions on what can or can't be used. This is what the guidelines of North Yorks constabulary says:

Gun cabinets must be attached to a sound surface and the force required to pull the fixing bolt should not be less than 2kN-m. The gun cabinet should be locked by means of one or more secure locks or close shackle padlocks. Padlock shackles should be hardened. The cabinet should preferably be in a concealed place. It should not be in a garage or outhouse (only an integral garage is suitable). Principally, only cabinets which meet the specification BS 7558(1992) are suitable but others may be acceptable if examined by a Firearms Enquiry Officer.

So I'd interpret this as meaning that plugs can be used if they require at least 2kN-m to detach them.

as long as it cant be pulled off the wall with force, but it should be rawlbolts, as they can be a lot stronger, plugs will pull out alot easier, I would go with bolts, as if the worst was ever to happen, the police would see that everything had been done correctly, as pulling bolts out, would take a fair chunk of brickwork with it, plugs would just leave a drilled hole

Try Thunder/Tiger bolts? (can't for life of me think of their correct name, 1 or other) used in the builing trade for fixing to concrete, better than rawl or plugs, just drill to diameter and wrench in, they cut their way through and are solid.

They don't have to be any set size, just make sure it's secured through all available holes, house bricks are 100mm thick so with plaster on either side plus a washer you should be safe (pardon the pun :D ) with 10mm x 100mm. Better to fix to an outside wall really so you would defo be OK with that size. A good thing about the concrete bolts is that they can be used time n time again
