rabbit vs terrier

HI IS IT TRUE THAT A TERRIER CAN CHASE A RABBIT AND GET IT CAUSE I AM GOING OUT IN THE MORNING WITH MY 2 TERRIERS A FRIEND OF MINES 3 TERRIERS AND A GRAYHOUND BUT I WONT MINE TO GET SOME CAUSE I HAVE HEARD THAT YOU CAN CASH THEM IN FOR 2TO3 POUND A RABBIT.

Its very unlikley ... even if they do nail one, it's likely end up as abit of a mess only fit for ferret food or will be a very unhealthy rabbit so will be worth nowt ...

went out with my two terriers and young lurcher we got one rabbit yseterday, dog terrier caught it . there was one reasoan alone he got it, myx. and after 2 seconds it looked like road kill not even fit for ferrets.

mine's caught the odd 1 either in long grass and they are young and just sit tight or they've got myxy but lets just say there more than oven ready when she's finished with them lol

Wish i could get two to three quid for a rabbit one is the normal price around my way

mine kill in bushes and bramble not on open but i got a bedlington springer puppy hopefully will catch when terriers flush them out but if you have a greyhound you should be ok

I've seen terriers catch hares in cover, and rabbits in fern. Dont think they would be fast or fit enough to catch one running

My girl does but not all the time she had one at the knebworth fair yesturday unlucky for me it was round the back of the beer van as we where having a chill in the sun the only problem was that a plain clothes copper witnessed the whole thing and thought it would be a good idea to come over and give me a bollocking for letting my dog take rabbit on private land :oops: So there you go it is possible she also chases them down when we are out but as I say it is not all the time.

i went out with my friends and there 3 terriers and 1 spaniel caught six in an hour

Mine havent had the opportunity yet but as marking goes, my lakeland x russell seems very keen at some warrens and not at others so Im hoping she might make a great marking dog, she also chases everything that moves so only time will tell.
