How much bait are you looking to make.....? and what size

 

You have a number of options depending on the amount you want to make

 

Gardner Rolaball baitmaster £30

Shillam Rolling Tables £600

Fully automated machine £7500

 

If your making large amounts you may also want to look at a compressor and gun( P.C.Cox make them) for producing the sausages

Well helpful mate. Do you make much bait? I had a crack last winter, only small 2kg mixes, but done quite well.

Not any more, used to make a lot in the mid to late 's...but theres so many good baits out there at aound £6 a kilo, i dont bother

If you were looking to produce 20kg, that you will use over months, then fine stick with what you have...."i know its a pain "

But if your going to produce 20kg a day, that you then sell on.... then you will need to invest in better kit

Its a big investment, for just personal use, or you put a mix together and get someone else roll it for you

You have about the best home use kit for the amount your producing... how you boiling them, an electric 20L Burco may help you

just got a twin 17 liter deep fat fryer with baskets in, so hope it does the job ok.

You can buy bait so cheap now that it's almost not worth doing, time would be better spent walking the banks of the lake and observing IMHO .......you need to roll so much to use it properly.

A couple of kilos is ok for a short session, but I don't consider 4 lbs of bait a lot for 24 hours or less.

You get carp switched on and feeding and you will sail through 4lb in a couple of hours.

 

I reckon your time would be better spent elsewhere matey

just remembered using one for the first time in the mid eighties hope you are more succesful than me,personally i dont think ill ever make my own again but in the eighties ready mades were in their infancy!anyone remember richworth tutti frutti/pukka salmon or duncan kaye slime baits,did really well on them flavoured with roast peanut aah happy days.christ just realised how old i sound atb dave
