jasper65 6
Got up this morning to feed the chickens and found my Rhode Island Red x Light Sussex cockeral dead . I put them up as usual last night and he was perfect and treading the hens as normal. when I found him he is perfect with not a mark on him but just laying on his side against the wire of the enclosure. Its typical as I had four cockerals but kept this one back while the others went for the pot, this one always seemed the alpha bird around the other cockerals which is why I spared him above the rest. I know there has been the odd Fox snooping about around the garden but they certainly can't get near them when they are locked up, then again they can peer through the wire where he was found dead ..... I liked this cockeral and thought he was a keeper.... the annoying thing is I originally had three in there and thinned two out in favour of this one. seems like I kept the wrong one back.
