Nick 14
If it is for your own use, only breed from the best one and cross with the best you have access to. Linebreeding or inbreeding does work, but make sure the dogs in question are worth line or inbreeding from. And always keep in mind that not only the good things will (hopefully)be preserved, but also possibly the bad things. If not really a lot of knowledge of the line of the dogs and their individual ancestors, use the best outcross you can find. Quote Link to post
paulcreed78 10
you should only line breed on a particular dog of outstanding working ability..inbreed or line breed to try keep his offspring as much like himself Quote Link to post

SalukiBULLJP 27
im in a similar predicament as im into keeping a pup back off both my bitches. .another couple of seasons and il be ready just need to make sure my two girls make the grade..ive also done a lot of studying and reading up on the matter...linebreeding and inbreeding has got us all these well bred horses dogs cats infact every kind of domesticated animal and pet has originated from the method.......with working dogs it is however much more apparent to breed worker to worker and "proven dogs" to "proven dogs" to strengthen and keep those traits and qualities passin on down the breeding line....very interesting subject... all the very best with your future plans MRQuinn.....keep at it and pop up a post or inbox me if you get some good results....JP 1 Quote Link to post
