TVlurcherman 5
Im new to pcp's as this post shows, can you charge a pcp with a air compressor? if so why do people buy dive bottles and pay to have them filled when they could do it for themself with a second hand compressor for about the same price as a new dive bottle? Rake aboot 4,935
Nope, A compressor would charge a tiny gun bottle way to quick,, heat would be an issue, Apart from that, bottles are cheap, compressors are not Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Your average compressor wouldnt be able to put enough pressure into it. Your average gun bottle takes around 2800 to 3200 psi. Tony Quote Link to post
Mooch. 177
I'm no expert either but as I believe it dive bottles are filled with filtered air to remove moisture, dust and oils. A standard air compressor doesn't so you'd be filling your gun's bottle with gunk, shortening it's life and damaging the gun from the inside. Quote Link to post

ghillies 209
i've looked into the compresser way a couple times, by the time you do the maths it works out the same if not more.. you need the filters on top to remove bits and moisture etc or the gun and gun cylinder fills up with water..literally. on the cheaper side to a bottle, most shops do a one charge thing (not all) but a 22 litter dumpy is the same as your 3liter.. untill they get to know you. dont forget to say its for land use.. because it aint empty.
