Hi all

With the tunnel and greenhouse full we had to make a start planting out, first lot of broad beans out

The soil has tilled up very good this year after plenty of muck was added back end of last season, next out was the first early peas, made a start constructing the pea supports.metal poles knocked in to a good depth for the backbone of the row,

Then followed with 3 runs of twine then the canes,

Not forgetting the shotgun shells me and my mate have saved from out shooting adventures, last time I poke my eye out on a cane lol

A pea each side of the cane and all done, about 350 individual seedlings one row is 75ft three more will follow through the year,Under the fleese is some early spuds that have been in the raised bed a couple of months, just popping up so best keep the frost covers at the ready just incase a emergency cover up is required

Can't wait for better weather so we can really get going,Got plenty to fill up but this year the gardens are being planted the opposite wat to in these pictures

The 4 plots with the fruit trees and tunnel on have been leased for the last 30 years by my friend martin and joining it is my 4 plots

I've had about 4 years, each allotment cost £26.50 each a year with water included, all the sheds ect is ours we each just rent our land for just over a hundred quid each it's a bargain

As it makes life a bit easier when it comes to holidays etc,we've helped eachother out now and then over the years but 4 big plots each is a bit much on ur own sometimes with work full time, he is retired so we assist each other,I spend hours here it's great,my girlfriend helps now and then, when the suns out,

That's it craigy boy, it's a strive to get there but it's worth it in the end mate,at first it was bad as all the lot was bramble and I spent 9/10 hours a day clearing, now I just have to go for a hour a day to feed the fowl and water round, the fun is starting now planting out rotavating etc,so a hour a day and 4/5 hours over the weekend keep it tidy,im lucky really the mrs is glad to see the back of me and sends me down there out the way lol,I'm putting spuds in this weekend and potting on various seedlings,I have about 15 layin birds at the minute and between the eggs and plants I sell on a small table by the side of the road it covers just about all costs and feed, they are laying really well so the garden pot is filling up,for £120 worth of seeds and setts we can keep the lot full of veg all year round, we buy seeds etc from dt browns they are great quality and the catalogue is packed with all sorts,Def worth a look,
