Anyone own a fishing tackle shop?

Recommended Posts

As above folks, looking into the possibility of buying one locally i've seen for sale.

Looking for a few pointers really.

Haven't got a clue mate, but the one near me was always dead until he started selling air rifles etc as well, after that there was always someone in when I went past!

If I were to own one I'd have a hunting section

hard buisness now with the internet mate, loyal customers and good bait is the only thing that keeps them coming through the doors, having your own water also helps running matches leauges etc. my mate owns one he also does chimney sweeping and propertly development just to keep it all going

a buisness you need to have your eyes wide open to take on, as for shotguns, rifles and air rifles he does them aswell new stuff most of the proffit is taken by the distributors and apart from sub 12ft lbs air rifles its a limited market, although there is money to be made in the second hand air rifle trade and all the add on bits that go with it

50-75% gross on turnover of approx £140K. It has potential, there is associations with clubs etc established so it is a pretty tempting possibility.
