RossM 8,121
Millet - i want both Seriously though, i find myself under dogged. My ideal daytime team would be a good lurcher, along side finn, and something to push stuff out. Also i'm out with johnny a lot, and others, and as we all have runners that will work cover, no one has a dedicated cover dog. Also, it would be handy for work on the shoot. RM - thats a nice hound mate, any side photos? RA - Will do now mate! I do somewhere mate, taken on a phone, the memory card is somewhere! lol, I'll look it out. Quote Link to post
Sirius 1,391
It's a hard job finding a non commercially bred Decent worker that's for sure. And when you have a dog it's even harder to find a suitable bitch with a owner who wants to breed! Edited March 19, 2012 by Sirius 1 Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
It dose not hurt putting other lurcher types into just collie/greyhound types. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Not at all mate, i wasn't suggesting that the ideal dog for me was just collie / grey hound mix, but a lurcher to lurcher line that was throwing collie lurcher types. If that makes sense. Quote Link to post

Yes mate it does make sense i understand wat your saying. The line i had for years collie blood was on both sides of the breeding but tbh i think the beddy in them made a difference. RossM 8,121
What about collie based bitches? Who has them and what would they like to add and why? Quote Link to post
thorny 100
I tried to breed my bitch this year and used a stunning line bred saluki grey that has a fantastic temperament but again for the second time nothing I think I have to accept the fact that she is barren and will never produce a litter ..... It's a crying shame as she is a decent all round dog .......... I had a bull Terrier, that I had mated 3 or 4 times but always missed. I ran a course of antibiotics over her season and she took. Vetdid a blood sample and it turned out she always ran an infection over her season. As Skycat has said different bitches take on different days as well Quote Link to post
