socks 32,253
I tried to breed my bitch this year and used a stunning line bred saluki grey that has a fantastic temperament but again for the second time nothing I think I have to accept the fact that she is barren and will never produce a litter ..... It's a crying shame as she is a decent all round dog .......... Damn shame that Socks, me an a mate off here have a lot of time for that bitch of yours and look forward to any posts you put up. That cross you were looking to do sounds right, I hope if you look into it you can suss the problem and have some success. Cheers mate hopefully I can get it sorted and get myself a pup out of her ............... Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,936
Whinshaw,, 10 yrs old this year, Collie grew. Now THIS is a working line. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Aye . . . it's all very well keeping yourself to yourself and telling no one of your dogs prowess etc etc etc. But then when you breed, you cant really blame folk for not taking your arm off for the pups. If they have never seen the dogs work, and never heard owt about them , that's just how it will go. I'm not suggesting that we need to be all self publicising etc, but also sometimes folk act like wee kiddies who want to keep all the sweeties to themselves. If it's really good blood, then get some on the deck and working, you never know what might happen . . . . and you could lose the line. Also you cant bemoan the general state of lurchers, if you are not going to do owt to put your good blood out there in the right hands, but would prefer to just cull it. But such is life i guess! And yes RA - that would do, although a bit of jacket would be nice. Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Have to admit thats why I went rough this time,, like the rougher type collie x`s,, but by f**k Jai, those two dogs above were good, still are in the case of the blonde dog,, I regret letting the black dog line petre out, but I was young. Never thought about it you know?. The other line, the blonde dog one,, thats still on the go. There might be a future there, I have been discussing this thread tonight on the phone, we`ll see, if it does, I`ll be first in the que Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
It hides the sins mate, and gives just that wee bit more protection from the minor rips and tears. Such a shame that the black dogs blood is gone, looks a fine beast, very strong, yet very fast. At least that's from looks. If you hear owt about the other blood, give me a shout. Keep me informed anyhow, and say hello to you know who, although im sure he will read this. Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
Ideation..me has just been thinking but not 2 min's ago you started a similar thread wanting a bushing dog..WHAT do you want lol ..a lurcher or a bushing dog.. Quote Link to post
RossM 8,149
Not a line yet as such, when I first saw this dog work I thought he was a lemon, but with time and effort he turned into an outstanding worker, putting a very varied mix of quarry to his name. By the time he was 3ish the seed was planted, depending how he and a bitch continue to impress me, this could be a breeding I would be inclined to try, this is stooge 1/4deer 1/4beardie 1/2grey coming up 7 this year 2 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Millet - i want both Seriously though, i find myself under dogged. My ideal daytime team would be a good lurcher, along side finn, and something to push stuff out. Also i'm out with johnny a lot, and others, and as we all have runners that will work cover, no one has a dedicated cover dog. Also, it would be handy for work on the shoot. RM - thats a nice hound mate, any side photos? RA - Will do now mate! Quote Link to post
