PLEDGEY 495
I'm left handed when shooting, and am looking at a Beratta A300 or a Winchester SX3. Thing is they don't do them in a left handed cast. Are there any shooters of semi autos out there that are left handed but shoot right handed guns?. If so, do you have any problems shooting that might not be obvious?. Personaly i can't seee it would make that much difference. Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Have fired a right handed semi auto and I'm left handed, although the spent cartridge ejects across your field of view it's fast enough not to cause too much of a problem if you can ignore it. I found the worst thing was in very low light as you do get a small flash discharge when it ejects. For that reason and the fact I wanted a wildfowling gun I bought a Benelli Super Black Eagle made in left handed version ATB Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
You will find mate that the cast on most semis is pretty straight,so shouldent present much of a problem, like Seeker I bought a left hand Benelli m1, absolutely brilliant gun,I would not change it for anything, cant recomend them enough Quote Link to post
mcglobus 1
Sorry, on phone, I'm also left handed using a right hand gun,as mentioned the stocks are generally "ambi",but shells eject to your right, no major problem, but did wake me up when I seen the flash a couple of times due to the light.ive had mine 3 years now(wanted a semi, took right handed because I could nt get hold of a lefty s/h quick enough!).only now am I changing to a true lefty. Deanrow 1
the one serious problem you may find is that the saftey is on the right hand side of the trigger guard if its cross bolt and Im not sure how you would fair switching it on and off Quote Link to post

There is no problem with the spent cartridges but in some conditions you can get the powder residue blowing back in your face(very strong wind blowing towards you). The choice of left handers is very limited now, it used to be very good but at the moment there is only Hatsan, Benelli and Fabarm. I have just ordered the new Fabarm for wildfowling(you can use steel shot with any choke). I am trading in a Benelli M2 which was OK but I had a few problems with recycling. DD Quote Link to post
Gloop 5
I have used R Handers with no problem. Got a Hatsan LH now and find it weird not to see the cartridge shooting out. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Just don't get anything that ejects backwards, or that has the ejection port set back. Mate tried firing an SA80 (bullpup design) left handed. Bang OW. Bang OW! Made us all chuckle for quite a while! Quote Link to post
